Sedation Dentistry
Fear of the dentist?... we can put you to sleep while we work

We'll make every
effort to ensure your visit is comfortable and relaxing. Stereo
headphones, blankets and neck support pillows are available for your
comfort. For some of our more nervous patients, oral sedation is
available. Our knowledgeable staff is always here to serve you and make
you comfortable. Talk to us about your concerns and we'll be extra
sensitive to your needs.
What is
involved?
You
are given a small pill to take an hour prior to your dental appointment.
You should have someone who will accompany you to the office. By the
time you arrive, you should be very drowsy.
When
you arrive at our office, you are then taken into a room, covered with a
warm blanket and placed on monitors to watch your vital signs. When you
are comfortable, our experienced team will take care of your dental
needs.
I.V. Conscious Sedation

Dr. Moore offers
IV Sedation for the patient seeking a painless dental experience. This
procedure allows us to serve patients with a wide variety of needs
including those with anxiety, fear of needles, and gag reflexes. Dr. Moore also provides treatment to patients who
want IV Sedation for convenience and relaxation, which makes a stressful
or lengthy appointment a pleasant and comfortable experience.

I.V. Conscious Sedation is deeper, and more predictable
Dr.
Moore is also able to more easily adjust the sedation to fit the needs
of each individual patient. Other sedatives such as nitrous oxide
(laughing gas) or pills (oral sedation) only provide lighter levels of
relaxation.
With
this form of deeper sedation, you breathe on your own while being
monitored and you will have no recollection of your actual dental
procedure when you awake.

Teeth
In A Day
Teeth
In A Day is a new procedure in Dentistry. It consists of the use
of dental implants for replacement of missing or to-be-extracted teeth.
The procedure involves replacing a tooth (or teeth) via an
implant-supported-crown, in one day.
The
implants are inserted under the skin and into the bone at the first
surgical appointment. This surgical appointment is performed in Dr.
Moore’s dental office under local anesthetics with or with out oral
sedation. This usually means placing a dental implant and, at the same
appointment, placing a temporary crown or bridge that is attached to an
implant. The plastic crown or bridge is replaced by a more durable,
final crown when the healing is complete.
Same
day dental implants for teeth replacement or repair have several
advantages:
-
Reliable - Dental
implants are very durable and have proven as reliable as dentures or
dental bridges.
-
Attractive - Dental
implants look and feel like real teeth. Since they are integrated
directly into the structure of the jawbone, they also do not cause bone
loss or gum recession.
-
Secure - Implants do
not click or wobble like traditional dentures. With no need for pastes
or glues, patients feel confident about speaking and eating without fear
of shifting or misplacement.

Dental Implants provide a Long-lasting
Solution
For
those who are missing teeth, implants help restore health and
beauty to your smile. Implants are attached to your jawbone
unlike dentures or traditional bridges. Dental implants look and
feel more like natural teeth.
The
patient most suited for a dental implant is in good
general and oral health. Sufficient bone in your jaw should be
present
to support the implant, and the best candidates have healthy
gum tissues that are free of periodontal diseases.
Some implants can take two to six months for the bone and
implant to bond together to form anchors. During this time, you
may wear a removable temporary tooth replacement option over the
implant site. Other implants can be placed immediately, and our
specialists place the implant immediately following tooth
extraction and attaches a temporary fixed tooth replacement.
What are dental
implants?

Dental
implants are basically sophisticated screws made of a medically
pure metal, Titanium. These screws are then placed in the jaw
bone and rest under the gum for 3 - 6 months. During this time
they actually fuse to the jawbone and become osseo (bone)
integrated. After the appropriate healing time, we uncover the
implants and use them to replace one or more missing teeth by
fabricating some sort of dental prosthesis.
