Sedation Dentistry

Those who have a fear of the dentist may find that Sedation Dentistry is the right choice for them. Don't let fear of the dentist prevent you or your loved ones from receiving the care they need.

What Is Sedation?

Oral Sedation is the most common form of Sedation Dentistry used today. It usually does not involve any needles, but is rather a pill you take at the dentist office, about an hour before the dental work is about to begin. You are then taken into a room, covered with a warm blanket and placed on monitors to watch your vital signs. When you are comfortable, our experienced team will take care of your dental needs. The best part is the drug induces amnesia so you won't remember the dental procedures.

Nitrous Oxide is also known as "laughing gas." Nitrous Oxide sedation is available and works very well to alleviate anxiety and calm the patient prior to dental procedures.

For an even deeper sedation, IV Sedation is available. With this form of Sedation, you will have no memory of the dental visit.

Regardless of the type of sedation dentistry you receive, it is important to have a responsible caregiver accompany you to the procedure (and drive you there if you must take oral medication before arriving for your appointment). The caregiver should drive you home after the procedure is complete and stay with you for an additional two to four hours at home.

Benefits of Sedation Dentistry

One of the most important benefits of Sedation Dentistry is that complex dental procedures that would normally require multiple visits, can now be performed in as little as one visit!

Moore Dental Care offers Dental Implant Makeovers and can handle all of your complex dental care from the very beginning to the end in one office location (including surgeries) with the comfort and safety of dental sedation. In addition, we give you a “Peace of Mind” Dental Warranty with your care.
